Background and Experience
Richard was born and raised in Petersburg, Alaska, where he gained an early appreciation for the principles of hard work, supply, and demand while working on his father's commercial fishing vessel. At age 22, he relocated to Eugene, Oregon, where he began his career in banking.
Richard brings more than 25 years of experience in client service and relationship management across both the retail and commercial banking sectors. Throughout his career, he has earned his Series 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses, along with his insurance licenses, and has built a strong reputation for delivering exceptional client service. He has successfully led and coordinated teams of financial professionals, helping high-net-worth clients navigate complex financial decisions with confidence.
Joining The Planning Group of the Northwest was a natural next step in Richard's career. He is excited to bring his extensive experience, client-first approach, and dedication to service to the team, helping provide our clients with the guidance, support, and confidence they need to pursue their financial goals.
Personal Life
Richard has been married to his wife, Lisa, since 2024, and together they have two children, Sarah (16) and Ayden (13). As a family, they enjoy spending their summers fishing, camping, backpacking, and playing softball.
Giving back to the community is important to Richard. He volunteers with the Anchorage Parks Foundation's Youth Employment in Parks Program, helping mentor and support local youth, and he also enjoys participating in Habitat for Humanity projects, contributing to efforts that provide housing opportunities for families in need.
